The role of the drummer
The drummers
(batsmen) use, for the defense of the wickets, a bat usually in willow and
whose total length does not exceed 97 cm. The drummer must hit the ball hard
enough, either to send him out of bounds (which is then worth 6 points to his
team), or to send him a sufficient distance so that he has time to run to the
ticket office of his partner (one point per race for the benefit of his team).
When the drummer leaves his wicket to run to the one opposite, his partner runs
himself to
the window left vacant. When the drummer is eliminated, it is his partner
counter opposite that replaces him, and so on until the eleven players of the
team whose tour is succeeding on the field. It is then
